Greetings Missionary Sisters:
I greet you in the love and peace of the Lord, Jesus Christ. I wanted to make you all aware of how God is truly blessing His missionary work in Albion, Michigan.
The women of our local society are striving to grow spiritually through studying God’s Holy Word and serve continuously through the ministry of missions. Below are some highlights of some of the ways that God has blessed us to serve since the last Area Meeting.
Missions Activities:• Mothers Day Visitations: The members of the WMS and YPD partnered to deliver cards and flowers to 35 women who reside in the nursing home in our community. It was a wonderful cross-generational experience that allowed us to share the light of Jesus Christ with those who needed to see and feel His love.• Emphasis Sunday- Health Theme: The society has focused on a health theme for our emphasis Sundays for this conference year. The May emphasis was in emergency medical responses and CPR. God has blessed us to have several health care professionals in the congregation that assisted in this presentation. Our goal was to show the congregation that we ALL are called to save lives- and we can do so both spiritually and physically.
Upcoming Events: • Dominican Republic Mission Trip: Please keep Pastor Phillips and 3 of our YPD officers (Victoria Crenshaw, Terrace Welch, and Jaquilla Hunter) in prayer as they prepare to serve God and His people through the ministry of missions next week. • YPD Carwash: in preparation for attending Annual Conference, the YPD of Lewis Chapel will be having a carwash on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 12 noon in the parking lot of Family Fare. If you plan to be in the Albion area at that time, stop by to see us.
To God be the glory for the marvelous things that He has done.
Respectfully submitted,
Sis. Teleah PhillipsPresident- Gertrude Hawkins Women’s Missionary Society
